Celebrating everyday magic

THE MAGIC OF MOTHERHOOD

December 20, 2020

Ahhhh, the magic of motherhood.

To be honest, I never dreamed of become a mother. I didn’t imagine myself covered in babies, and my heart’s desire wasn’t to stay home wiping up sticky fingers and cleaning up never ending spilt snacks. I pictured myself becoming an archeologist, traveling the world, maybe a teacher of history, discovering and adventuring to my hearts content. In fact, I was an Ancient Jewish History Major, focusing on Old Testament History (not Jewish by the way). I pictured myself doing something “great”. Something that made a difference. A change of events led me to take a break from school and by chance, I got a job teaching at a preschool.

You guys. It captured my heart. I fell in love with teaching. I loved that preschool age group, their love of learning, their silly questions, their excitement over EVERYTHING and I loved it so much, I decided to go back to school with a focus in Early Childhood Education. And I realized that traveling the world without the boy I had a crush on would be totally pointless. We got married that summer and planned to travel the world together. After a few years of teaching Elementary school, I had Penelope and knew there was no way I was going back to work. Teacher turned mama it was and I have never looked back! There is not a doubt in my mind I am exactly where I’m suppose to be. While we didn’t do much world traveling, we now take our babies across the United States and travel and make memories as a family, which in my opinion, knocks traveling the world solo out of the park.

Is it exhausting? Yes.

It is overwhelming? Yes.

Does it always feel right? No

Is it glamorous? Hell no.

Is it the best freaking thing on the plant. Most of the time.

But maybe most importantly, is it “great”? Is it making a difference? Everyday, in every moment. YES.

A thousand times, YES.

So raise your iced coffees and champagnes to the everyday moments, the big and the small, the victories, the defeats. making it to bedtime and every beautiful, brutal moment in between.

“This shaping of souls.

This raising tiny humans.

There are those who say that this is ordinary.

Don’t buy that for a second.

Mighty.

You are mighty because you mother.”

-Lisa Jo Baker

And that my friends, says it all.

SO VERY NICE TO MEET YOU!

December 18, 2020

Hello there! Thanks so much for stopping by! I’ve wanted to start blogging for a while now…mostly to document this journey of motherhood and the days that fly by so quickly. I’m so excited to share our everyday adventures with you and all the magical and not so magical moments along the way.

I’m Tiffany, a teacher turned mama. Married to the boy I’ve had a crush on since 7th grade and mama to Penelope, Everly, and Theodore (and one more on the way! We live in the Pacific Northwest and can usually be found doing projects at home and planning a trip to somewhere sunny. Life is busy, full of chaos, loud, and practically perfect.

A few of my favorite things include iced coffee, sunshine, road tripping around the United States with my crew, sleeping in, loving on my babies, champagne, a good cheese board, and celebrating alllllll the things. I’m a holiday enthusiast and a typical 7 enneagram: optimistic, adventurous, always planning the next fun thing, easily distracted and totally scattered. I sometimes stop planning one fun thing, to plan the next fun thing. This is a charming trait that my husband loves. 😉

I love sharing pictures and stories of my babies, trying to capture them exactly as they are because babies don’t keep and they are, of course, pretty much the cutest humans on the planet. 🙂

That’s just a little bit about us and I hope every time you pop in you find something that puts a smile on your face. We’re looking for the magic in the everyday moments and are so grateful you’re here!

XO,

Tiffany
